The community of Ga-Nala took desperate steps to make their voices heard.
On Monday May 7 they closed the main road in the town at the Kingfisher Street crossing with burning tyres in a desperate attempt to make their plight heard.
“We have had numerous break-ins, rapes and assaults which we report to the police, but nothing is being done,” said Mr Bongani Thwala.

His concerns were supported by the community who echoed how they fall victim to crime on a daily basis.

Kriel SAPS station commander, Lieutenant Colonel Herold Mashile received a memorandum from the community and said barricading roads are not the answer to frustrations.
He invited the community to sit around a table and discuss any concerns they have with him.
