With winter slowly creeping in, the best advice will be to be warm at all times right?
A woman was outside speaking on the phone on a chilly Sunday morning when a man invited her to his car. Little did she know that her need to be warm would lead to her being raped.
On April 15 around 00:45 a woman was with her friends at Extension 8.
She received a phone call from her uncle’s friend who was supposed to fetch her and take her home to Middelburg.
She went outside to answer the phone call and an unknown man was sitting inside a white Polo Vivo that had an unknown registration number, suggested the woman went inside the vehicle as it was too cold outside. She got inside the vehicle and the man locked the car, reversed and drove away with her.

She asked where he was taking her because she is waiting for someone to come fetch her and her friend to take them home. He said they are going to a local pub situated at Paul Sauer Street.
He drove past the place because they were closed. He drove to an open space, stopped the car and unlocked the doors. The woman got out of the vehicle and she ran away.
He ran after her with a wheel spanner in his hand, he caught her and hit her several times with the spanner. She was bleeding, felt dizzy and fell down. He allegedly kicked her before undressing and raping her.
The suspect took the woman’s jacket and jean to the boot of the vehicle and said to the woman, he was going to fetch a firearm in order to shoot her. The suspect got inside the vehicle and drove away.
The woman then went to the nearby houses for help. A case of rape has been opened and it is currently being investigated by police.
