Break-in at a church

Thieves broke into a church in Tasbet Park after breaking an opening in the concrete wall.

Thieves broke into God’s Love Warship Centre in Wildebeest Street on Saturday. Pastor Jackson Ramateletse discovered the break-in on Sunday, March 23 at about 05:00. He had gone to the church for the usual morning prayers.

“I came in through the main door, and went straight to my office. On entering the office the locker door was wide opened and I then suspected something was wrong. I was proven right,” he said.

Pastor Ramateletse then went to the main church and found that the mixer was missing and he noticed that thieves had gained entry after breaking the concrete wall of the church. The pastor went through the office to check whether everything was in order.

He found that a small safe containing about R400 was missing and about R300 collected from the offering was also missing. The estimated value of the missing items is about R8 000.
