A traditional healer (24) was arrested by Kriel Police for possession of counterfeit money.
The arrest took place on Friday, March 23 after a lady wanted to deposit R500 at a local chain store.
The staff member from this store realised that the money was not real.
Upon questioning by the staff member about where this money came from, the depositor told the staff member that she got the money from a person residing on her premises.

The depositor told the staff member that she is simply assisting abovementioned person to deposit the money, as he does not have an identity document.
The staff member then instructed the depositor to call the person she is assisting and as he entered the shop, police were informed and the suspect was apprehended.
Sgt Mahlalela, Capt Nhlambo, Sgt Maswikaneng, Cst Gula, Cst Mdebele and Cst Madigage interviewed the depositor and the person residing in Thubelihle.
At their premises in Mhlanga Street, a traditional healer was found preparing medicine, where after a shoebox of money was found containing counterfeit money.
The total amount was R 52 100 and the healer was arrested for possession of counterfeit money.
He appeared in the Kriel Magistrate Court on Monday, March 26.
