Two suspects followed a resident to a car dealership after she withdrew a large amount of money at a bank in Highveld Mall.
It was alleged that a silver Ford Focus with a Gauteng registration started following the victim from a bank in the mall after she left the bulk tellers.
The two suspects parked next to the victim and started knocking on the window demanding the victim climb out and hand over the vehicle keys. The one suspect suddenly pointed a firearm and the victim gave in.

The suspects fled the scene without taking the victim’s vehicle but took an undisclosed amount of cash.
In another incident with the same colour and make of vehicle another couple was the target of the “bank followers” as they were robbed after leaving a bank in Highveld Mall.
It is alleged that the silver Ford Focus started following the couple to a bike shop in town when suddenly an armed suspect appeared next to the vehicle the victims’ were travelling in.
The suspect demanded cash and said that he knows there is cash in the car. The suspects managed to get an undisclosed amount of cash, the victims’ jewellery and cell phones.
“We tried to follow them but lost them in OR Tambo Street,” the victim concluded.
