Witbank Dam to host Junior International Bass tournament

Zimbabwe has topped news headlines this past two weeks with their political turmoil. On a whole different note some good news that also involves Zimbabweans.

The South African Junior Bass Angling team will be competing again the cream of the crop, or the best of the lures from Zimbabwe in an international angling test.

This will take place in local waters.

The top 40 ranked junior anglers from across the country competed against each other in both team and individual formats during the annual junior national event at Wriggleswade Dam in April this year.

The results of this competition was used to determine the country’s top 13 anglers who qualified to represent the South African Junior Protea Bass fishing Team in a test against Zimbabwe.

This event will take place on Witbank Dam from December 7 to December 10. The Witbank Yacht and Aquatic Club facilities will be used as a base for the event.

The team consists of Bradley Wiehahn, Bruce Cook, Bryce Geldard, Liam Pelser, Jason Harrison (Captain), Tristan Wickham, Luke Kloppers, Bertus Ferreira, Nathan Wickham, Luke Pelser, Nathan Lentz, Zack Verster and Vian Senekal.
Nathan and Tristan are from eMalahleni.
