Angry community members gathered outside Kriel Magistrates Court to protest against bail for a rape suspect.

The 29-year-old suspect who was arrested for rape was denied bail again on Monday, August 21.

This came after the community of Ga-Nala marched to the court with placards written ‘no bail to Lucky the rapist.’

A letter was handed to the prosecutor that was signed by the community members.

The suspect was arrested on August 14 by Kriel police members.

Some women gathered outside Kriel Magistrates Court on Monday, August 21 holding up placards.

This comes after a 10-year-old girl disappeared on August 12 and she was found the following day.

She said that she had been abducted and kept the whole night by the 29-year-old at his home where he brutally raped her.

He will appear in court again on September 28 for a bail application.
