Mr Jeff Hinds is on his way to South Africa.
Jeff’s mom, Glenda and his stepdad Willy Allison was fatally shot during an armed robbery on Sunday, August 13.
He left Canada on Monday, August 14 and is expected to land in South Africa today.
Glenda’s daughter, Melanie stays in Johannesburg and Willy’s son, Henry in Lephalale.
Robbers gained entry to the couple’s yard in Browning Street by cutting the razor fence and breaking a glass window.
They shot Willy three times and Glenda once as she tried to escape.
A neighbour, who wishes to stay anonymous, said the shots tore through the evening sounds,
“We knew something terrible was wrong when we heard the shots. It sounded as if it was happening right in front of us. I did not realise robbers were in my neighbours house.”
The neighbour’s daughter said she saw five men with balaclavas flee the yard after the shots.
“This is still so unbelievable. It feels so unreal. We are trying to make sense of this chaos,” Ms Robyn Schmidt, Glenda’s sister said.
