Two suspects out on R1 500 bail after stealing copper

Phola police have once again stepped in and saved the day. The men and women in blue managed to recover four rolls of cable.

The arrest was made on Wednesday afternoon, June 14 at Tweefontein Mine. Cst Mxolisi Nelson Mahlangu, Cst Velaphi Zulu, Cst Tshepiso Reason Sebatana and Cst Thembelihle Egnes Songo are the police that arrested the two suspects.

Tebogo Rakhoabe and Mojalefa Rakhoabe are the two suspects found in possession of suspected stolen property.

The four police received a complaint from Cromhout Security Consultants (CSC) in Phola that the Security Guards of Omega Security Services found Tebogo and Mojalefa with suspected stolen goods in their possession.


Cst Velaphi Zulu and Cst Mxolisi Nelson Mahlangu are two of the four police from Phola that arrested two suspects found in possession of copper at Tweefontein Mine. The arrest was made on Wednesday, June 14.

On arrival, police found Security Officer Mr Micheal Sibanyoni of Omega Security Services who showed police the suspects and explained what he found. Sibanyoni said the suspects were found with a white truck and a trailer loaded with the copper estimated around R145 000.

Tebogo and Mojalefa gave permission for the property to be handed back to the rightful owner, being the Mine. Suspects were both arrested and detained at Phola Police Station.

The pair appeared at Ogies Magistrates Court on Monday, June 19 where they were granted bail of R1 500 each. The case was postponed to July 24.
