A restaurant owner was busy closing up his business for the day, when he was robbed of several items.

A restaurant owner was busy closing up his business for the day, when he was robbed of several items.

On Sunday, June 18 at 20:30 Mr Boussaad Smaili owner of ABC restaurant alleged that he was closing his restaurant with a colleague.

As they closed the restaurant situated in Walter Sisulu Street and started their vehicles an unknown man approached him.

The unknown man approached Smaili who was inside his vehicle; the suspect beat him up and continued assaulting him.

That is when the suspect placed Smaili into the back of the vehicle; they got the restaurant keys and entered the building, taking whiskey and cash.

Smaili was allegedly taken to nearby bushes where three shots were fired, he was tied up with cable ties and they threatened to kill him.

Cigarettes, money, cell phone, necklace and Smaili’s car were all taken from him and he was left in the bushes.
