Local designer makes it to Mrs South Africa top 100

S’thembile Simelane-Motloung, a wife and the mother of four children has made eMalahleni proud.
She has made it to the top 100 finalist on the Mrs South Africa pageant.
Mrs South Africa (Pty) Ltd is the number one pageant for married women in South Africa and the world and it is seen as a women empowerment programme, not a beauty pageant in the traditional sense of the word.

It is truly a life changing journey for the women who enter this renowned Women Empowerment Programme. The pageant supports Cansa as their primary charity. Last year alone it has raised over R1.1-million towards Cansa.
Beauty pageants are not typically thought of as particularly real or relatable. The gorgeous gowns, the tiaras, the immaculate hair and beauty, the perfect and polished contestants: all wonderful to watch, yes, but not attainable in real life.

But Mrs South Africa is not the typical beauty pageant. It offers married South African women who have real-life careers, families and hobbies the chance to compete for the prestigious title of Mrs South Africa. Sthembile Motloung was raised in eMalahleni and has been a resident of eMalahleni most of her life. She is a hands-on fashion designer who owns a fashion label ‘S’the M Fashions’ based in Pretoria. She is known to dress influential people like Thuli Madonsela and others.
