Two households’ pets poisoned

Another set of dog poisonings have occurred in Blanchville, and it isn’t the first time.

Another set of dog poisonings have occurred in Blanchville, and it isn’t the first time.

“Our two dogs were poisoned about a month ago when they cut our fence,” said Mr Abrie Goosen, a resident living in Fleur Street, Blanchville.

The Collie-Rottweiler cross was found dead after being poisoned.

On Wednesday, March 15 the Goosen family awoke to the sound of their children screaming as they came running into the home; their dogs had been poisoned overnight.

Their Labrador, Collie-Rottweiler cross, and Jack Russel were found lifeless in the back yard. All three dogs had eaten mince laced with two-step the notorious pet killing drug.

“One of our neighbour’s across the streets dog was also poisoned and it didn’t look like he would make it either,” said Hendrik Goosen.

Mince laced with two-step was found stuck against the gate of one of the houses.

Mince laced with two-step was found plastered against the gate at one of the houses where the poisoning occurred. It’s suspected that the vandals threw the mince into the yards.

Goosen added that they haven’t had any burglaries at their home despite there being two instances of dog poisoning.
The family is now on guard as they expect robbers to make some attempt at their home.
