Illegal immigrants found guilty in court

Various cases were heard in Witbank Magistrates Court last week with many cases being postponed whilst others were found guilty.

On Monday, February 27 in court B a case from Ogies was the first to be heard. Skhumbuzo Sindane was arrested in Ogies for theft. He appeared in court where the case was transferred back to Ogies court and then remanded until March 13.

From Vosman, Hledoisom Kuradu was arrested for assault with intent to do grievous bodily harm and for being an illegal immigrant.

He was found guilty on the first charge and was sentenced to six months under supervision, which is suspended for five years on condition that he does not commit the same crime during that period.
On the second charge he was fined for R1500 or three months imprisonment.

Four cases from Witbank were up next and the Magistrate started with these cases.
April Machipa was arrested in eMalahleni for a murder as his case was heard. He received R3000 bail and has to appear in court again on April 19.

The next case to be heard was that of Sebastian Manhangoes that was arrested for being an illegal immigrant. He was found guilty and was sentenced to R1500 or three months imprisonment.
Soloman Ubisi and Victor Mthimkhulu were arrested for theft where they both received R500 bail and they will appear in court again on April 21.

The last case to be heard was Isaac Mokofane appeared in court for assault and malicious damage to property. He received a warning.
