A man was kidnapped and after seven hours he was finally dropped off at an unknown place.

The incident occurred on Sunday, February 19 at about 11:00 when Mr Wagar Younis alleged that he was walking in Escombe Street alone.

He was then approached by an unknown man who greeted him and said to him; “Hallow Wicky.”
Younis acknowledged the man, all of a sudden he withdrew a firearm, that’s when another unknown man approached him from nowhere and forced him into a motor vehicle.

While Younis was inside the vehicle, there were two other men inside the car. They tied his hands and covered his face with a cloth.

He estimated that they drove for about seven hours and eventually Younis was dropped off at a central place inside an informal settlement in a house.
Younis recalled that there was no electricity inside the house and he was left alone.
While all alone, he was asked by the two men for his uncle’s telephone number, without hesitation he knew he had to do something to get free.

He then gave his uncle’s number; the men made the call and then they left. They started making their way back to eMalahleni and they took both of Younis’ phones.

“The person who was watching me in the vehicle, got drunk, that’s when we stopped next to the road for a while. I managed to run away from them and an off duty police officer took me to Hazyview police station. That’s when they called my uncle and he came to fetch me and brought me back to eMalahleni,” concluded Younis.
