Five people from eMalahleni were robbed at gunpoint for their personal belongings.

On Saturday, February 18 at 11:15 Mr Nicholas Mamogale alleged that he was on the Old Ogies Road waiting for transport to go to Benoni.

While he was waiting two unknown men approached him, one was armed with a gun. The suspect then searched Mamogale and they took both of his cell phones.

On Friday, February 17 at 08:10 Mr Jabulani Mbonani alleged that he was in Ogies looking for transport to get back to eMalahleni.

He then started to hike, when a car with four occupants picked him up. As they travelled along to eMalahleni one of the men inside the vehicle took out a firearm.
Mbonani had nowhere to go and the suspects then took his cell phone.

On the same day at 19:40 Ms Nikiwe Nyakane alleged that she was coming back from Bheki informal settlement where she went to buy airtime. On her way home she passed the railway crossing, she was approached by two unknown men.
Nyakane recalls that both men were armed with firearms, they then took her cell phone and money.
Once they got what they wanted they ran into the bushes.

On Thursday, February 16 at 07:45 Mr C. Neethling alleged that he was busy opening his business when two unknown men approached him with firearms.

They then pushed him into the back of the shop and demanded that he hand over all the cash, he then told them that he does not have any.

That’s when the suspects took his cell phone, car keys and glasses. Nothing in the shop was taken.
Mr Potrice Cauter was robbed of his belongings on Thursday at 05:10. He alleged that he was cycling along Voortrekker Road.

When he came to a stop sign to turn right a white Quantum stopped next to him.
That’s when two unknown men climbed out of the vehicle; they were armed with a firearm.
One suspect took his bicycle and the other suspect opened his bag then left it on the ground and fled.
