14 000 L of diesel stolen from truck yard

Within two hours the 10 suspects had entered the yard, bound its employees, and loaded a tanker with 14 000 L of diesel.

On March 12 at about 01:30, two men entered Safe Run Logistics, a truck yard situated on the Bethal Road. The suspects rounded up the nine employees that were in the yard; a few of them were stationed as guards, while others were off shift.

They were brought to one of the containers where they were all bound and the robbers then took their cellular phones and belongings.
At about 02:00 the robbers opened the main gate fully and a 20 000 L tanker drove into the yard, accompanied by a bakkie, the tanker parked close to where the diesel was being stored.

“Using their own generator and pump they stole about 14 000L of diesel from my yard,” said Mr Ebrahim Ismail, owner.
Ismail added that the robbers were very well organised, and that the whole robbery was over and done with in just under two hours.
The suspects finished pumping the diesel into the tanker and drove off, leaving the staff at Safe Run Logistics unharmed.
