He was driving home after dropping off his colleagues at Vosman when he was robbed at gunpoint.
It was a day after Christmas, Monday December 26 when a 34-year-old man was driving his Nissan 1400 at Old Coronation. He alleges that around 19:00 he stopped his vehicle because of cows that were crossing the road, this unfortunately prevented him from proceeding with his journey as he waited for the animals to cross safely.
He mentions in the police report that as he was in the vehicle, he suddenly saw two men wearing overalls come towards him, one of the suspects forced him to open his car door while the other one allegedly pointed him with a firearm. Money, a driver’s licence, passport and his wallet were taken by the suspects.
When called for comment his brother who picked up the phone stated that the complainant could not comment as he is in Mozambique following him being robbed off his passport. He indicates that he is a self employed man who is trying to make a decent living, as to why something like this would happened to him is beyond words.
“He went home to get a new passport in order to stay in the country legally. I am not too sure about the finer details of the evening he was robbed but I know some of his personal belongings were taken.”
The man was not hurt during the robbery.
