Winter warmer project initiated by DA

Councillor Naritha Naidu and her Democratic Alliance (DA) branch from Ward 33 initiated a ‘Winter Warmers’ project at Immergroen Retirement Home.

The winter warmer took place on Saturday, June 18.
They joined hands with several sponsors which included the Knight Watchmen, Tony’s Vegetable Market, Tersia Groenewald and Marti Ferreira in order to ensure a successful event.

The event consisted of the provision of chicken soup and bread, and generous donations of winter clothing for the weak and vulnerable in the society.

It was heart-warming to witness people of diverse backgrounds and age differences gather together and unite behind a common cause for the day, feeding the elderly with care and compassion.

There were many eager hands willing and ready to serve the elderly because the event was well attended by members of the Knight Watchmen, DA activists, DA branch members, aspirant DA candidates and current Councillors Sibusiso Mokoena and Councillor Yolandi Breetzke who certainly added smiles on the faces of residents which was their primary objective.

There are many such projects in line for other Retirement Homes in the near future and Councillor Naidu thanks all her sponsors and her great team for their generous contributions and their time spent that turned this event into a success.

The DA is a party for all and is committed to building a rainbow nation with freedom, fairness and opportunity for all.
