Missing person found dead and decomposed

A young man left home to go and see some friends and family and he had not been seen since he stepped out of his house, in Extension 41.

The man was reported missing by his family and he was found, just not in the state they had expected to find him.

mother, who lives in Lynville. He left home on January 11 and did not return. After two weeks of looking for him and his family
having placed a missing person’s notification, Masango was found on January, 23 at a plot in Kromdraai.

Masango was found by a shepherd, who works on the plot, who informed his employer of the badly decomposed body, lying in the veld. The plot owner, Mr Skhosana went to investigate and immediately informed Vosman Police of the body on his property.

The body had allegedly been there for some days before it was
found as it was badly decomposed by the time of its discovery.
“It is sad what happened to my son, he was a humble boy and did not bother anyone. He kept to himself and spoke when necessary
for him to speak. Nkululeko never engaged in an argument with others,” said his grief-stricken mother, Ms Mary Mabena.

The Witbank Police and Vosman Police are working together in the investigations of this case. A missing person’s case which was opened at the Witbank police station, is still being investigated and the murder case opened at Vosman is also still under investigation with the police looking at all possible leads and motives for the death of Masango.

“We will work together and do our best to resolve this case, as it is a very sensitive one at the moment,” said Warrant Officer Tshidi Mamarega. No suspects have been identified as yet and police ask for anyone with information regarding this case, to come forward with any information they may have.
