The slaughtered sheep in plastic bags were found in a Toyota Tazz driven by two suspects who were caught by the Hawks.

Information was received on Monday, April 17 at about 10:00 that there are two males who are selling slaughtered sheep at the amount of R700 each. Information was followed and the two males from Wonderfontein in Belfast were found driving a white Toyota Tazz. The Tazz was loaded with eight slaughtered sheep while the ninth one had already been delivered at Vosman in the early hours of the morning. The total number of the slaughtered sheep recovered was 15. The slaughtered sheep were found with heads, legs and intestines.

It was later confirmed that the two suspects are Bongani Ngubeni 36 years old without a passport and Solomune Pelembe also 36 years old with a Mozambique passport. They have already appeared before the Witbank Magistrate Court and were denied bail and remained in custody. The case has been postponed to April 25 for a formal bail application.
