SBV suspects in the high court next week

Prosecution will be lead by Mr Hein van der Merwe from the Director of Public Prosecution.

It has been nearly two years since the armed robbery in which R107-million was stolen from the SBV holdings in eMalahleni.

19 of the 21 suspects believed to have been involved in the armed robbery on April 27, 2014 are set to appear before the Middelburg Magistrates Court on February 8.

Prosecution will be lead by Mr Hein van der Merwe from the Director of Public Prosecution.
In the last appearance at the B-Court of the Witbank Magistrates Court the high court date was revealed, a list of state witnesses was also disclosed and the indictment against the accused was read revealing the charges being laid against the suspects.

The charges include four counts of attempted murder, four counts of kidnapping, a count of malicious damage to property, that of conspiracy to commit robbery with aggravated circumstances, robbery with aggravated circumstances, and the acquisition, possession or use of proceeds of unlawful activities.
All suspects save for one are currently out on bail, Mr Robert Clack remains in custody having a pending case against him in the Boksburg region.

Additionally Messrs Hans Kruger and David de Villiers were of the original 21 accused but will undergo a separate trial regarding their suspected involvement in the hiding of the stolen monies.
