Court adjourned, Breedt to appear on new date

The case of Ms Idiry Henrietta Breedt who faces the charges of theft and false pretenses has been postponed once again.

The case of Ms Idiry Henrietta Breedt who faces the charges of theft and false pretenses has been postponed once again.

As the case now enters its fourth month, Breedt reappeared in Court A on November 3. She was supposed to have been sentenced last month after pleading guilty on charges filed against her. This follows after she loaned a huge sum of money from Mr Richard Cooke, Mr Johan Steyn and Mr Dirk Meyer which she did not pay back like she had promised to.

After pleading guilty, her next appearance was supposed to be her sentencing. However when she reappeared in the court of law, the judge wanted a correctional services representative together with a probation officer to be present to testify what they wrote in their respective reports, if it was indeed the truth. In the following court appearance both the correctional services representative and probation officer were available and on that day Breedt took to the stand, with her legal representative asking her about the root of the story involving her and the three men.

The judge was not happy about the cross examination and asked to be released from the case.

The case now has a new judge and the matter has been postponed to February 26 2016, where the judge will be thoroughly looking into all the documents which will see him come up with a conclusion in her next appearance.
