Up in arms over robbery

A normal day turned out to be quite a shock-filled one for a man who was robbed at gunpoint.

Mr David Raul was caught between a rock and a hard place when all he felt against his skin was the icy cold nose of a pistol.
Raul was robbed at gunpoint on Saturday, July 26.

“I was walking over to the shops in Extension 8, I’m sure it was just after 16:00, when they jumped me,” said Raul as he told his experience of how he was robbed of a cell phone that did not cost more that R100 and how his only R150 was taken from him at gunpoint.

Raul was walking along Longfellow Street, Extension 8 towards the shopping complex.
“Nobody passed by and no car came speeding by like they normally do,” said Raul, with a blank look on his face as he took a breath to continue the tale of his ordeal.

“They took my cell phone, an old Nokia that was not even working anymore and the only money I had for food. My boss had not paid me but gave me something for the weekend,” explained Raul.

The suspect has not yet been found and no arrests have been made.
“I am just glad that I am still here, I am just thankful for my life,” concluded Raul as he told how he can always get another phone but not so costly this time around.
