A night out turns into disaster after hijacking

Two unknown men were involved in the robbery.

A few drinks at a local tavern have left a nasty aftertaste for one resident.

The patron was sitting in his vehicle with another passenger inside the premises when the passenger window suddenly shattered.

In the late evening hours of Sunday, June 4 the two occupants were enjoying a few drinks at a local tavern when a robber shattered the window of the vehicle and held the occupants up at gunpoint.

At the same time of the confrontation, another robber shattered the driver’s side window and he also had a firearm.

The two occupants were ordered to exit the vehicle and one robber fired warning shots. According to reports, the driver of the vehicle was shot and wounded.

The robbers fled with the victim’s grey Toyota bakkie worth R500 000. The suspects are still at large and investigations are underway.
