Another three points gone for Coal City Wizards

The Coal City Wizards are on a losing streak, having lost 11 of their 14 games.

Local side Coal City Wizards lost another game, this time to Durban Ladies. They have lost 11 games in the 14 games they have played so far.

The picture does not look good for the local ladies’ team; they lost 4-2 at a game played at Puma Stadium on Saturday, May 20, a game they should have won.

Durban Ladies showed that they mean business with their striker Kwezi Dlamini’s shooting, but her shot missed the target.

Ladies scored their first goal after only five minutes into the game when Wizards defence was caught ball-watching by Dlamini who scored an easy goal.

Wizards had a place kick and Peacemore Kenende took the shot which went wide. Ladies were back in the picture when an inter pass between Lucia Gaonwe and Dlamini nearly resulted in a goal.

Wizards Kenende took a corner kick but Nkensani Baloyi’s shot went over the crossbar.

Kenende was the only live wire in Wizards frontline and created scoring opportunities for her teammates. Ladies played using the wings to good effect.

Wizards defender Bongiwe Dlamini nearly scored and her shot was cleared off the goal line by Ladies defender Anna Mphuthi.

Leading 1-0, Ladies controlled the game but Wizards scored the equaliser to make it 1-1.

Ladies were in the driving seat when Silindile Ngubane scored an easy goal to make it 2-1.

Ladies Zamandosi Nene nearly register another goal for her side. Wizards Yonela Keto set a pass for Rennika Khoza to put her side on equal terms with Ladies to make it 2-2 before halftime.

Ladies make treble substitutes at the start of the second half and they pressed hard for more goals they were rewarded when they scored their third goal after a good build-up to the goal area. With Wizards playing under pressure they committed a lot of mistakes enabling Ladies to control the game.

Ladies increased the goals to 4-2 after they were awarded a place kick. Wizards even failed to score after they were awarded a penalty; Relebogile Mohlokoane was too casual when taking the kick in the dying minutes of the match.

Wizards will be playing City Lads away in their next fixture on Saturday, May 27.
