N4 near Vosman temporarily closed due to continuous protests

Traffic law enforcement Officers are redirecting motorists on the N4 to use available alternative routes.

Aggravated protestors have once more shut down the N4 to Vosman in eMalahleni.

A police van stationed at KwaGuqa satellite police station in Lynnville was set alight last night (May 9) as well as a truck on the N4.

The community in KwaGuqa are demanding better electricity supply from Emalahleni Local Municipality

A truck on the N4 was set alight last night (May 9).

It seems that certain areas in KwaGuqa have been without electricity for a week whilst some areas have allegedly experienced power outages for 16 hours a day.

Brigadier Selvy Mohlala, provincial police spokesperson on Tuesday, May 10 requested motorists who utilise the N4 to delay their journeys or use alternative routes, “We have deployed our members who are currently on the scene as the N4 is temporarily closed,’ Mohlala said.

Mpumalanga Department of Community Safety, Security and Liaison Moeti Mmusi warned motorists travelling to and from eMalahleni via the N4 to use alternative routes, “This is due to a violent protest that is currently taking place in Vosman,” he confirmed.

As it stands traffic law enforcement officers are redirecting motorists on the N4 to use available alternative routes.
