TS Galaxy Queens walked over Richmond United

TS Galaxy Queens won 5-0 against Richmond United fight.

Football supporters were treated to a bumper bash of football when the Hollywoodbets Super League staged a double header fixture at Puma Stadium.

 

The first fixture featured Mamelodi Sundowns Ladies who walked over locally based Coal City Wizards winning 9-0; the games were held on Sunday, May 7.

 

The second fixture saw third-placed TS Galaxy Queens dribbling their way past fourth-placed Richmond United scoring five goals into their net, and winning 5-0.

Richmond from the onset matched their opponent pound for pound pushing players forward for an early goal.

 

Their defender Sharon Oliphant crossed to Michelle Sampson who failed to connect.

 

Richmond’s Michelle Sampson was in the picture again when she misses a chance to score.

 

Richmond’s captain Nobengazi Makopo laid a good pass for Sampson who could not convert it into a goal.

Richmond used the wings effectively when one of the forwards Ntaoleng Dlamini shot at goal and was saved for a corner-kick.

 

Galaxy started with their build-up from the back and slowly gained the upper hand as the game progresses.

 

One of their forwards Busisiwe Ndimeni nearly scored after receiving a pass from hard-working winger Nicole Michael.

 

Galaxy Busisiwe Ndimeni and Mapule Kgoale both nearly scored with high balls.

 

Richmond back four of Makopo, Dimakatso Seitheko, Mathapelo Mokgethi and Nthabiseng Mazoeu played well at the back but were let down by their strikers who failed opportunities into goals.

 

Richmond Nthabiseng Majiya had a chance but the shot was saved for a corner kick.

 

On the other end, Galaxy Mamello Makhabane scored a goal with a strong shot to make it 1-0 before half-time after the ball had hit the goal post and bounced back to play.

 

Galaxy forward Mapule Kgoale was trying to add another goal but had a shot going over the bar.

 

Richmond had a place-kick near the D-line but the shot went wide.

 

In the second half, Richmond made a double substitution, their goalkeeper and another player.

Galaxy back four of Erin Herz, Seshweni Matlala, Jamie-lee Witbooi and Nothando Vilakazi maintained their composure and kept their discipline at the back.

 

Galaxy started pushing players forward and controlling the match.

 

They scored their second goal through Bisisiwe Ndimeni when she beat the goalkeeper.

 

From there on it was Galaxy all the way adding another three goals to make the final score 5-0.

 

Richmond not to be outplayed also had a chance when they had a place-kick and it was cleared off the goal-line by the hard-working Galaxy defence. 

 

Galaxy Ndimeni scored a brace and their winger Nicole Michael was named star of the match.

 

*From their impressive 2-1 win against TUT on Saturday, April 22, Coal City Wizards’ performance has taken a nose dive for the worse.

They were beaten 4-0 by Royal AM on Saturday, April 29 and again they lost to Mamelodi Ladies on Sunday, May 7 in round 12 of the fixture. 

 

They have accumulated seven points in the process.

 

After playing 12 games they have won only two games, draw one and lost nine games and are in the relegation zone.
