Vosman Police looking for suspects

The streets of Vosman and KwaGuqa do not appear safe as armed robberies are on the rise.

Police in Vosman are investigating two cases of armed robbery and would like to ask for help from the public.

In one of the cases, the victim residing in Extension 10 reported to the police that he was walking on the main road in KwaGuqa Extension 4 when a light green Toyota Corolla passed him and then reversed.

Three unknown people armed with pistols and a knife confronted him. He threw his cellphone and power bank into a nearby yard.

On seeing that, two of the suspects grabbed him and held him at gunpoint and hit him on the head with a pistol and he fell on the road. The other suspect got into the yard and took the cellphone and the power bank.

They also took his jacket and t-shirt; both valued at R970 and drove away. The value of the cellphone is R2 800 and the power bank is R100.

The incident happened on Saturday, April 8 at about 23:45.

The other case involves a 29-year-old man who resides in Thushanang.

He reported that together with his colleagues they were driving to work on Hectorway Drive in Lynnville on Sunday, April 9 at about 04:30.

While on the road they were bumped by a black VW. They stopped to ascertain the damage to their car when two armed men got out of the VW and held them at gunpoint.

They searched them and took their wallets, ID documents, driver’s license, car jack, t-shirt, and an amount of R2 000 in cash and they drove away from the scene.

No one has been arrested in both cases.
