The Hub presents school shoes to Dunbar Primary School

‘These children receiving the gifts will remember this day for the rest of their lives and hopefully they will do the same when they grow up, donating to other children.’

A team from The Hub Highveld Mall brought smiles to some learners of Dunbar Primary School when they presented them with school shoes and sanitary towels.

School teachers of Dunbar Primary School together with a team from The Hub Highveld Mall with the school shoes and sanitary towels presented to the school on Monday, November 14.

The team led by the store manager, Ms Portia Mkhwebane decided to choose the school as their project to give back to their communities.

The presentation was held on Monday, November 14 at the school.

“The company gave us money to give back to our communities and we came to a decision to give to the school as we have seen that there is a great need. We decided on the school because we saw that most of the learners of the school came from poor background and they lack basic needs like school shoes,” said Ms Mkhwebane.

She added to say they want to build a good long lasting relationship with the school going forward as this was their first project.

Ms Mkhwebane promised that this was the start and have other programmes set in the coming months.

The school principal, Mr Jabulani Mgidi said they were thankful of the gifts from the store and wishing the team all the blessings.

“As we are heading towards Christmas the gifts came at the appropriate time and it means a lot to the children and the school. These children receiving the gifts will remember this day for the rest of their lives and hopefully they will do the same when they grow up, donating to other children. We are saying blessed is the hand that gives and keep up the good work.”

The team donated 25 pairs of shoes and a box of sanitary towels.

Ms Mkhwebane was accompanied by Ms Patria Masia, Ms Nombulelo Dhlamini and Mr Mongezi Mdhluli.
