Business robberies are constant in eMalahleni

The victims had their hands tied with their shoelaces.

This past weekend the robbers were at it again.

It is safe to say that they do not sleep and are hungry for unsuspecting targets such as the two recent business robberies.

The first incident took place at a business in Klarinet on October 7 in the late night hours.

A security guard on duty with a water-pump attendee was in their company’s vehicle when they heard a knock on the window.

They then noticed three unknown male suspects who forcefully opened the vehicle’s door and pointed at them with a knife where the guard and attendant were taken to an unknown part of the mine.

It is alleged that 10 men were involved in the robbery.

Other employees were rounded up and two suspects guarded the victims.

It is unclear how many robbers in there were, but apparently whilst two stood guard, seven of the robbers went about and managed to steal 30 232 litres of diesel.

The suspects had their faces covered and it took them about three hours to complete the theft of the diesel.

The victims had their hands tied with their shoelaces.

According to the security guard, after he noticed the robbers were gone, they untied their hands and went looking for help.

The police and the security company attended the robbed site.

In another separate incident, it is alleged that two security guards were on duty at a business located on the old Middelburg road when 10 unknown males approached the two security guards and grabbed them, holding them hostage.

The particulars are still a bit unclear, but it is believed that they got away with copper wire worth thousands.

Allegedly the guards had their hands tied, but they were able to untie themselves when it was apparent that the thieves had left. They then contacted the police.

Luckily no one was harmed during the incident.
