Laerskool Duvhapark receive 1 000 books in donation

With a newly renovated library and a donation of 1 000 books, learners at Laerskool Duvhapark are excited to get reading.

Enaex Africa once more graced Laerskool Duvhapark with their gracious sponsorship.

This time about 1 000 books were donated to the school’s library on Wednesday, August 31.

This fruitful partnership was established in 2020 when Enaex Africa showed interest and support to the school using sponsorships.

Enaex Africa has since donated JoJo tanks during the lockdown period, they went on to upgrade the school’s parking facilities, installed palisades around the field and now donating upgraded books to the library for the children to take home and read.

Laerskool Duvhapark principal Ms Maria Nekhudzhiga expressed her gratitude for the consistent support they have received from Enaex Africa, “I am more excited about this specific sponsorship because it’s more about books. As we all know that knowledge is power, and we want to instil in our children the passion for reading ‒ Enaex you have done us good, and we appreciate it.”

This donation came at the right time, which is according to the principal as they have recently renovated the library and right after requesting sponsorship from Enaex Africa and local councillor Mr Sidney Tjatjie offered his assistance with the process of ensuring that the learners are empowered with books.

Corporate social responsibility manager Nondumiso Radebe, Laerskool Duvhapark Principal Ms Maria Nekhudzhiga, Enaex Africa Exco and human resources manager Ms Precious Maluleke.

Enaex Africa Exco and human resources director Ms Precious Maluleke outlined the importance of investing in local schools as a part of their purpose which is Humanising Mining in all aspects, “We have got four pillars that we focus on and education is one of the core ones, not only do we do this work here, but we have several schools around the province, therefore it is always a pleasure engaging, and we should never forget that leaders are made by readers.”

Ms Nondumiso Radebe, corporate social responsibility manager at Enaex Africa enlightened everybody whilst unboxing books at the newly refurbished library.

A big part of the donation stems from the fact that they see themselves as a part of the community and it is always important to empower the community.
