Unicorn Wellness Hub helps create awareness

If you want to lift yourself up, lift up someone else.

In the spirit of Women’s Month, the Unicorn Wellness Hub had a craft and wine evening.

It is aimed for single mothers or women in general.

Crafting tables were set up conveniently with glue guns.

The founder, Chantelle Vorster started the non-profit organisation in hopes to create awareness regarding the issues women face on a daily basis.

Creating a community centre, best described as a ‘safe space’ for women who need to talk or just be.

“There is no negativity here; we want people to get out of their comfort zones. If someone is sad, I’ll be sad with them. A lot of women get so caught up in life, raising a family and some of these women are struggling single mothers, and they tend to put their lives and feelings and friendships on the back burner because they put others’ needs ahead of their own.”

Apart from doing blood drives and community awareness services such as donating sanitary pads to underprivileged girls, Chantelle Vorster, founder of Unicorn Wellness Hub also has a workout studio for women.

Attendees could make and decorate their own clocks.

“At the moment, the Unicorn Fitness Centre is generating some of the income that helps us to do what we do for our community, but it is not enough and more is needed.”

The Wellness Hub will have a blood drive in association with the SANBS on August 27 at the centre located at 4 Bailie Street, Klipfontein, and are also having ‘flash mobs’ in and around eMalahleni to promote the NPO.

All the different selections.

Any queries regarding assisting the NPO or even if you are a struggling mother, daughter or woman in need of emotional support and just needs to talk, you can contact Chantelle Vorster: 079 270 0392 or mail info@uwellhub.co.za.
