Attempted murder leaves a man in hospital.
Witbank Police are looking into murder and attempted murder incidents that occurred over the weekend.
On Saturday, August 6 police on the scene discovered an ambulance and a group of people on the side of the road, where they discovered the body of an unknown man with no visible injuries.
The victim was declared dead by medical personnel on the scene, and it is believed that the man died as a result of an assault.
It was also reported that on Catfish Street, police on duty responded to an attempted murder case, and discovered an unknown person lying in the street.
The victim sustained a gunshot wound to the forehead.
The incident occurred around 22:00 on Sunday, August 7.
The suspect fled the scene as he drove away, leaving the victim with a gun wound until police arrived and summoned an ambulance.
