Cross-country competition a success

Nkangala Athletic Academy hosted yet another successful cross-country league at the Tshwane University of Technology, eMalahleni campus.

One of the oldest athletes taking part in the cross-country competition held at TUT campus on Saturday, July 30.

The competition was held on Saturday, July 30.

The cross-country was attended by 210 young and adult athletes from around Mpumalanga.

Athletes need to have four leagues in order to stand a chance of qualifying to represent Mpumalanga province in the South African Cross-country championship that will take place in Rustenburg on September 17.

“The reason behind hosting this league at TUT is to highlight important academic achievements and to make the athletes aware that there is a tertiary institution in eMalahleni to unlock the door so that athletes can be awarded scholarships. We brought it to eMalahleni as a second home of Nkangala Athletic Academy,” said Emmanuel Mabaso of Nkangala Athletic Academy.
