Memorial service for Woltemade Street stabbing victim
A special service in honour of Nelly Voyiya will be held today at at Macsteel.
The woman who tragically died after being stabbed in Woltemade Street will be remembered today at a memorial service.
The service for Nelly Voyiya’s will take place at 12:00 today at Macsteel situated at 4 Van Der Byl Street, where she worked before her death.
Memories and stories will be shared of this kind and humble lady.
“It is a time to recognise that death may have taken away Nelly’s physical presence, but she will forever continue to live on in our hearts,” said her close friend.
Voyiya was killed on Tuesday, April 19 while she was on her way to work.
A man who followed her in her car allegedly stabbed her several times when she stopped after hitting a lamp post in the street.
The suspect fled the scene but later handed himself over to police in Standerton.
