Alliance Church making a difference before Easter

The children brought a different twist by acting out the story of Jesus

As a way of reminding people of the meaning of Easter, the Sunday school foundation at the Alliance Church in Phola set out into the streets of the community.

The children and their teachers held a peaceful march on Saturday, April 9 to commemorate the upcoming Easter weekend.

The children brought a different twist by acting out the story of Jesus at all the different stops that they had planned for.

The children took turns in playing a different character while teaching community members at taxi ranks, parks, community halls and local grocery shops.

Mrs Nokusho Nkutha, one of the organizers said that it was important to show people that children have a voice in society.

“The purpose of this march is to show the children that they are valued and should not be shy. We want to show them that their values should be embraced. We want to shape their mind while they’re still young so that they become something in life one day. We also wish to nurture and nourish the gifts that they hold within them,” added Nkutha.
