Easter Weekend by the Executive Mayor Cllr. Conny  Nkalitshana

Make sure you are responsible on the roads this weekend.

We are approaching the Easter weekend, the leadership collective of Emalahleni Local Municipality wishes you all a safe and blessed long weekend.

Accordingly, we remind and urge all residents of Emalahleni young and old to go and vaccinate for those who have not done so, because although the national state of disaster regulations have been lifted, we must still remain defensive as we learn to live with the virus. As we honour our pilgrimages, religious, cultural and social activities lets us adhere to all the transitional measures still in place so that we don’t regret post the Easter weekend

Fellow citizens of Emalahleni Local Municipality, those who will be travelling to various destinations let us observe all the road safety tips, do not drink and drive or walk.

I also want to caution that human trafficing has become one of the biggest challenges facing the country. I appeal to parents to build and maintain healthy relationships with their children and be vigilant about online safety characterised by unusual behaviour.

If you decide to consume strong drinks as part of your social activities please stay at home or where you shall have been accommodated in case you have travelled.

It is a common course that drinking, driving and walking in the streets after indulging increases risk exposure to you and other road users. Let us all take responsibility for a safe long weekend.

Let us make sure our vehicles are road worthy.

If you are going to leave your property unattended please inform and request your neighbourhood to keep an eye because criminals always take advantage during travelling seasons such as Easter and Festive holidays.

I take this opportunity once again to wish you and your families a happy, safe and peaceful Easter weekend.

Let us come forward to pay for municipal services and keep Emalahleni clean.

We love you all and I thank you

Stay blessed.
