Illegal immigrants get the boot during clean-up operation

Various entities swept through the central business district this morning in a clean-up operation that yielded good results

The local law enforcement unit and various other departments from eMalahleni moved around the Central Business District (CBD) cleaning up the city.

On Tuesday, April 12 the CBD of eMalahleni was cleaned up, shops were closed, illegal immigrants were arrested and illegal structures to sell food were broken down.

The law enforcement unit, members from Witbank Police Station, Department of Health, Department of Labour, and various other entities joined in this operation.

It was a successful day as three illegal immigrants were arrested, and one shop was closed down where expired food was also removed from the shelves. Illegal structures were broken down near Pap and Vleis.

“These structures have been built illegally on the municipal ground, and it is causing problems to the people walking home as the thieves are hiding behind here,” said Chief Delisiwe Motha, head of the law enforcement unit.
