Phola man out on bail after stabbing woman

The suspect was granted bail of R 1000.

The Provincial Commissioner of the SAPS in Mpumalanga, Lieutenant General Semakaleng Daphney Manamela has spoken strongly against violence perpetuated on women.

This comes after a 42-year-old male suspect appeared at the Ogies Magistrate’s Court on March 11 following allegations whereby a 54-year-old-woman was stabbed several times by the suspect.

This incident is said to have occurred on February 24.

Reports indicate that on the said day the woman was in Phola, walking pass the house of the man who allegedly attacked her.

He allegedly first poured water over her then followed by reportedly stabbing her with a knife repeatedly.

The woman is said to have sustained some multiple injuries as a result.

The case was postponed to April 26 for further investigation.
