Women take the lead with clean-up campaign in Reyno Ridge

Whilst all women were honoured and spoiled on Women’s Day the councillor of Ward 18 along with other women made a difference.

Whilst all women were honoured and spoiled on Women’s Day the Democratic Alliances (DA) councillor of Ward 18, Salomie Kriel made a small difference by cleaning a field in Hartebees Street.

On August 9 she took on the field that was covered in rubbish and started cleaning it one black bag at a time.

This initiative was brought forward by amazing women, Christa Joubert and Madeleine Snoer, living in this area.

Later on, another lady joined the group but what really stood out is that Hannetjie van Staden is over 80-years old and did not wink twice before jumping in and helping these ladies.

“The concept of kindness was when the two women approached me and gave me the initiative to start small and make a difference because each small gesture, in the end, makes a huge difference. I just want to thank them for helping our community to be better and this especially on Women’s Day,” Kriel concluded.
