People with albinism presented with food parcels

Food parcels, cream, hats and dignity packs were handed out

Ms Trudy Xhala Mavimbela carried a message of love, care and support when he handed food parcels and other essentials to people with albinism during Mandela Month. Ms Xhala-Mavimbela manager of the Transversal Unit in the executive mayor’s office told the group that she was bringing nothing else but love as South Africa and the international community came together to celebrate the international icon. Mandela Month is dedicated to the legacy of Mandela and his spirit is all about taking action, inspiring change and making a difference in communities.

This was done despite the Covid 19 and how it has impacted communities across the world and that makes one feel more important than ever. The group were presented with food parcels, cream, hats and dignity packs. Ms Tryphina Nhlapho representing the group said even though they face challenges daily they appreciate the gesture and believe working with the office of the mayor has benefits and they are looking forward to a good relationship going forward.
