Newborn baby found on a doorstep in Ezinambe Extension 4, eMalahleni

The baby is currently in the care of social workers at the hospital

A newborn baby was left tightly wrapped in blankets on a resident’s doorstep in Ezinambe Extension.

The resident Mr Xolani Nkosi told WITBANK NEWS in disbelief that he was leaving his house to go to work on Tuesday, July 21.

He opened the back door of his house and walked out his gate but for some reason, he looked back towards the house and spotted a blanket that was placed at the front door of his house.

He walked to the blanket and as he opened it, he found the sleeping newborn baby boy.

Nkosi went to Vosman Police Station with the baby where the police transported him and the baby to Witbank General Hospital.

The baby is currently in the care of social workers at the hospital.
