Sewerage smell lingers in the air

The sewerage was flowing straight into a dam where the fish eventually died due to the sewerage spill

Almost a year later and the smell of raw sewerage is back and this time seems to be worse than last year.

It’s no longer just a little stream of sewerage but it is flowing in by the gallons.

A week after the sewerage problem was reported the sewerage is still pouring into a drain into a nearby dam.

Last year a story was written about the sewerage that flood from two main businesses in eMalahleni.

The sewerage was flowing straight into a dam where the fish eventually died due to the sewerage spill.

This problem was solved and the dam’s condition started to improved and the dam was in such a condition that new fish were introduced into the water.

“I am worried about the fish in the dam as the dam has just come right,” said Mr Attie van Wyk.

Now a year later that same sewerage spill has started to overflow once again and there is fear that it will run into the dam again killing all the fish.
