Young man shot during house robbery in Ezinambeni

Entry to the house was gained through breaking the sliding door open and started taking a Plasma TV that was placed on the wall.

Two suspects shot and injured a 21-year-old man during a house robbery at ‘New Developments’ in Ezinambeni Extension 18.

The incident occurred on Thursday, May 21 at around 02:00.

A neighbour, whose identity is known to the WITBANK NEWS, when explaining what happened, said he was called to the scene by another neighbour to try assisting with catching the culprits, who broke into the house of their neighbour.

“Entry to the house was gained through breaking the sliding door open and started taking a Plasma TV that was placed on the wall. My neighbour, who lives with her two children, woke up to the noise caused by the scene; the suspects then started demanding their cell phones as well when they realized they were noticed. One released fire when my neighbours’ 21-year-old son failed to comply with the demands of the suspects,” he said adding that the suspects fled the scene after shooting the 21-year-old man.

Vosman Police were alerted after the neighbour called the JD-MED Emergency Services to the scene to assist the patient.

“It was at around 02:00 when a call came in from the patients’ neighbour to seek for medical attention, upon our arrival we found a young male with a gunshot wound on the left groin in critical condition, he received treatment and was transported to Witbank Hospital in a stable condition,” explained the owner of JD Medical Emergency Services, Julius Mashabela.

Police confirm in their report that a case of house robbery was opened.
