A farmer in the Ogies district together with the local SAPS police reached out to disadvantaged families and donated maize-meal.

On Sunday, April 26 Mr Christie Truter donated maize-meal to over 100 disadvantaged families in Phola.

The campaign was carried out successfully by Sergeant Lilly Motaung who is the Relief Commander of Relief – C and members under her wings.

The Phola Community Policing Forum chairperson Ms Rachel Nyambi and her secretary Mrs Gabisile Ndakisa also played a major role in the process by helping in identifying such families and in the handing over.

“The donating event was successful and the Disaster Management Act 2002, COVID-19 was observed. Social distancing and other safety precautions were followed,” said Const Thabang Ntuli, spokesperson for Phola SAPS.
