Dancing through memory lane

Even the mommies got their chance at fame and strutted their stuff to the tunes of The Greatest Showman, This Is Me

Mariske Coetzee School of Ballet held their biannual concert on Saturday, November 9 at the New Life Church.

The theme for the evening was to be Disney Musicals but many of the girls chose songs from various other musicals such as Singing in the Rain, The Greatest Showman, Moulin Rouge, Sing, Walking on Sunshine, The Sound of Music and Grease, so the theme changed slightly to Disney and Musicals.

There were of course the Disney favorites – Olaf from Frozen, Beauty and the Beast, Trolls, Jasmine and Rapunzel from Tangled.

The girls were all kitted out in stunning, colourful costumes that would have made Disney on Ice performers green with envy.

Even the mommies got their chance at fame and strutted their stuff to the tunes of The Greatest Showman, This Is Me.

Mariske guided the little ones through their dances and got applauded for her many and varied hoop skills.

One could see that the girls were having fun during each performance and that all the hard work throughout the year paid off.

It was a truly professional performance that left everyone wanting more.

The evening was rounded off with prize giving and gifts for all the girls.

Mariske would like to thank everyone that helped to make the night one to remember.
