Nkangala Athletic Academy (NAA) excels in the championships

Moses Mahlangu displayed an outstanding performance in the 10km man main senior race

Nkangala Athletic Academy (NAA) maintained their yearly high performance while representing Mpumalanga province with pride and excellence.

This was during the South African Cross Country Championships held at Uitsig High School in Pretoria on Saturday, September 7. NAA obtained two medals out of 13 medals won by the Mpumalanga team.

Emmanuel ‘Shaper’ Mabaso, chairman of NAA said that Neni and Nani Ndlovu got silver medals in the 4km u.14 boys’ team events, Nani clocked in position four overall.

Moses Mahlangu displayed an outstanding performance in the 10km man main senior race.

He became the first Mpumalanga athlete to be in the top five positions in the history of the senior man 10km cross country which is dominated by Central Gauteng and Gauteng North.

He obtains position five and is now standing a chance of representing South Africa in the World Cross Country championships in 2020, if he obtains top six positions in final trials.

“It feels so good to be underrated and hit the right spot at the right time. We left South Africa puzzled asking themselves who is the new kid from Mpumalanga who cracked the wall and shaken the floor of the athletic industry; the answer is a son of young giants Nkangala Athletic Academy. Mpumalanga is now recognized. Next stop is the world championship and the South African School Cross Country Championships,” added Mabaso.
