Nkangala Athletic Academy road to South Africa championships

Gold medalist Moses Mahlangu senior man 10km, Nkosinathi Skosana 4km boys u.15, Neni Ndlovu 4km boys u.13 and Siyabonga Mdlalose 3km boys u.12.

Nkangala Athletic Academy (NAA) scooped nine medals, four gold, one silver and four bronze during the Mpumalanga Cross Country Championships held at Piet Retief High School.

The championships were held on August 17 and 22 athletes qualified to represent Mpumalanga province in the South African Cross Country Championships to be held in Pretoria on Saturday, September 7.

Gold medalist Moses Mahlangu senior man 10km, Nkosinathi Skosana 4km boys u.15, Neni Ndlovu 4km boys u.13 and Siyabonga Mdlalose 3km boys u.12.

Silver medal Katlego Moloi senior man 10km and bronze medalist; Sipho Hlumbane 8km men 40plus, Emmanuel Mabaso 8km men 35plus, Doctor Madalane 4km men u.23 and Brian Motsepe 4km senior men.

The following athletes qualified for team Mpumalanga: Lerato Kgaile, Siyabonga Mdlalose, Neni Ndlovu, Nani Ndlovu, Samukelisiwe Mdlalose, Dintle Mapheelle, Karabo Mdodana, Anesu Liwane, Nkosinathi Skosana, Scelo Mncwango, Wesley Mothogoane, Nhlakanipho Nyambi, Sihle Sibeko, Brian Motsepe, Doctor Madalane, Kenneth Motswene, Petrus Phetla, Michel Nkadimeng, Moses Mahlangu, Thembi Mabaso, Sipho Hlumbane and Emmanuel Mabaso.

“It always motivates to live amongst the champions, train with champions and mostly those champions arise from the same dusty road and developed by young giants, Nkangala Athletic Academy. We are looking forward to bring some medals home and have national champs once more,” said NAA chairperson Emmanuel Mabaso.
