Shooting victim treated in Witbank Hospital

Two men were shot, one of the victims were shot in the buttocks leaving him in extreme pain.

The most recent incident occurred on Friday, October 26 at approximately 20:00.

Police officers from Witbank Police Station alleged that they were on duty together when they attended to a complaint of a shooting.
When the police officers arrived on scene, they found a large group of people which were CPF members and unknown men.

On the scene they found one cartridge; it’s alleged that a member from a security company fired the shot next to the victim.
It’s alleged the reason why the shot was fired was because a large group of people were busy attacking an unknown man.

In the second shooting incident that occurred on Thursday, October 25 at approximately 23:00 in the Central Business District (CBD) of eMalahleni on the corner of Van Deventer Street, another member from Witbank Police Station received a complaint about an attempted murder incident.

The police officer went to Witbank Provincial Hospital where the victim was being treated; he was shot in his left buttocks.

When interviewed about what happened, he explained to the police officers that he was with his friends walking in Van Deventer Street, when they noticed a vehicle parked on the side of the road.

There were people inside the vehicle and they just started firing shots at them.

The victim was taken to the hospital by his friend and he was treated for a gun shot wound. A case of attempted murder was opened.
