Unfortunately this happened and the attack left many shoppers and shop owners in complete and utter shock.

On Thursday, 19 July, a well known jewellery shop got robbed by four armed suspects. It is alleged that a woman was busy performing her duties when a man rang the bell to enter the shop.

She opened the door for him and immediately two other men came running in and pointed firearms towards the woman.
They told her that it was a robbery and that she, along with three other employees had to lie down on the ground.

One of the suspects whom were carrying a big bag started to break the glass counters and took the items that were on display.
Allegedly a shot also went off inside the shop. Gold, watches, rings and diamonds had been stolen.

The suspects fled in a Volkswagen Polo GTI in an unknown direction. None of the suspects wore masks and they can be identified on the surveillance cameras in and around the mall.

Members from the SACCW (South African Community Crime Watch) along with SAPS and emergency services attended to the scene. Luckily there were no serious injuries.

Two more well known businesses had to pay the price when armed robbers appeared.

It is alleged that on Friday, 20 July, a man was busy working at a take-away restaurant in Klipfontein when an African male entered the restaurant. A second male entered and they ordered the employee to lie down on the ground.

The suspects searched the employee and confiscated his Samsung smart phone along with his car keys. They then ordered him to open the till and stole the cash. The suspects then fled the scene.


The scene after the jewellery shop in the mall had been robbed.

It is believed that they rushed off in a white Toyota Quantum. The employee will definitely be able to identify the suspects if he sees them again.

A well known liquor store also had to bend the knee when three armed robbers bashed through their doors.

It is alleged that on Monday, 16 July, three males decided they need to steal alcohol and money. They entered a well known liquor store and pointed firearms towards the cashier. They instructed her to open the till and they then allegedly took all the money. They also stole some alcohol.

Two of the males wore remarkably easy to identify clothing. One of the males wore a navy blue Sasol overall, another wore a maroon Drimack jacket.

After collecting what they wanted, the three suspects fled the scene.
